MINNEAPOLIS – Eleven Golden Gopher women’s hockey alumnae competed professionally during the 2021-22 season across the PHF, PWHPA, and European leagues. Due to the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, six players with program ties that played professionally in 2020-21 opted to represent their countries.

Eight Golden Gopher alumnae competed in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) – all with the Minnesota Whitecaps. Sydney Baldwin, Winnie Brodt-Brown, Chelsey Brodt-Rosenthal, Amanda Leveille, Meghan Lorence, Patti Marshall, Nicole Schammel, and Alex Woken all donned the black and blue in 2021-22. Marshall, who completed her first season with the Whitecaps, led all alumnae with seven points in 20 games. Woken, who also competed in her first season with the club, notched a goal and an assist over 20 games. Rosenthal-Brodt joined Marshall and Woken as the only alumnae to play all 20 games. The Minnesota Whitecaps finished the season with a 6-13-1 record and a semifinal defeat in the PHF playoffs.
