GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina’s Cameron Morra has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week.
Morra, a senior from Rockville, Maryland, knocked off a pair of top-50 ranked players last weekend to help Carolina remain the only unbeaten women’s team in Division I with an overall record of 21-0.
Morra’s 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 victory over 14th-ranked Jaeda Daniel of NC State put Carolina up 3-2 against the Wolfpack in a match between the two top-ranked programs in the nation. Morra also earned a win over No. 48 Carolyn Campana of Wake Forest earlier in the week.
UNC hosts its final two games of the season at Chapel Hill Tennis Club this weekend. The Tar Heels welcome Clemson on Friday at 3 p.m. and Georgia Tech on Sunday that will also serve as Senior Day beginning at 1 p.m. Before the match, Morra and Alle Sanford will be honored in their final regular season home match of their careers.
