How to register as a business that places professional plant protection products (PPPs) on the market


Who must register

Importers, manufacturers, processors, distributors or sellers of either plant protection products (PPPs), adjuvants or PPP ingredients for professional use in Great Britain (England, Scotland or Wales) must register with this form. Businesses in Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man do not need to register with this form.

Importers

You must register if your business imports either PPPs, their ingredients or adjuvants for professional use into Great Britain.

Manufacturers and processors

You must register if your business:

  • produces formulated PPPs
  • produces PPP ingredients
  • produces adjuvants
  • repacks PPPs
  • relabels PPPs

The PPPs, PPP ingredients or adjuvants must be manufactured or processed in Great Britain and must be for professional use. This includes toll manufacturers.

Distributors and sellers

You must register if your business makes PPPs, their ingredients or adjuvants available to buy for professional use in Great Britain, either in a shop or over the internet.

Download and fill in a form to register as a business that places professional plant protection products (PPPs) on the market.

Downloading the form

The form is in a spreadsheet format. You need spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel, LibreOffice, or Mac OS Numbers on your device to open and fill in the form.

The form is available in 2 different file types: .ods and .xls.

Use the .ods file if you have OpenOffice or LibreOffice.

Use the .xls file if you have Microsoft Excel or Mac OS Numbers. This is a free application provided by Apple and should be preinstalled on your Mac.

Returning the form

Save the completed form as a .ods or .xls file.

Email the file to GB-OCR-Notification@defra.gov.uk

If your company closes after registering, you must notify GB-OCR-Notification@defra.gov.uk
