Troy Parrott leaves it late with stunning winner | Ireland

Troy Parrott produced a stunning strike in the 95th minute to snatch victory for Ireland when it looked like the story of the match was going to be the four goals ruled offside and frustration for Stephen Kenny.

Parrott, a 63rd minute substitute for Will Keane, had looked dangerous from the moment he came on and there was only one thing on his mind when he pulled down Benas Satkus’ headed clearance from Conor Hourihane’s cross and smashed the ball into the net from 25 yards.

It was cruel on the obdurate Lithuanians. Ireland manager Kenny wild’s celebrations in the technical area reflected relief that Ireland’s domination had finally been rewarded and his team are now on a run of eight games unbeaten.
