Juda Repeats as Big Ten Gymnast of the Year

ROSEMONT, Ill. — Junior Paul Juda of the University of Michigan men’s gymnastics team has been named Big Ten Gymnast of the Year, the conference announced Monday (March 28).
The Deerfield, Ill., native tops the conference on parallel bars (14.080 average, 14.800 high score) and high bar (14.258 average, 14.500 high score). His season-best all-around score of 86.100 is the top score of any Big Ten all-arounder.
Juda was named Gymnast of the Year in the 2021 season and Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2020.
He owns 11 event titles on the season and was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week twice, with plaudits coming on March 8 and March 14.
He joins elite company, as alum Sam Mikulak is the other Michigan multi-time winner, taking home the accolade in 2011, ’14 and ’15 seasons. The Big Ten Gymnast of the Year honor is the ninth in U-M team history dating back to the formation of the award in the 1988 season.
A member of the U.S. Senior National Team, Juda will help lead the No. 2-ranked Wolverines into the Big Ten Championships on Friday and Saturday (April 1-2) in State College, Pa.
